Michael P. Jackson
President and Founder

Mr. Jackson has served in senior executive positions in both private and public sectors. 

He was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2005-2007), the COO responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the newly-formed Cabinet department with a $48 billion budget and some 210,000 employees. DHS's seven operating components and over twenty supporting organizations span the range of homeland security missions, including counter-terrorism, emergency management, law enforcement, research and development and intelligence analysis. 

Mr. Jackson was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Transportation (2001-2003), where he focused particularly on the Department’s response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks.  In the Administration of President George H. W. Bush, Mr. Jackson served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Liaison, and later as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Transportation.  He held several positions working for the Secretary of Education during President Reagan’s second term.

In the private sector, Mr. Jackson was Senior Vice President of AECOM, a global family of design and engineering firms, and COO of its government services group.  In 2004, he was a member of the President's Commission on Implementation of United States Space Exploration Policy, which provided a management roadmap for undertaking NASA’s future missions.  Prior to returning to government service in 2001, he was COO of Lockheed Martin IMS’s Transportation Systems and Services group and, earlier, Senior Vice President at the American Trucking Associations.  He has taught political science at Georgetown University and the University of Georgia. 

A Houston native, he has a Ph.D. (Government) with distinction from Georgetown University and has taught at Georgetwon and the University of Georgia.
